evaluation

For my NHS project I ran into a few problems with the overall production whether that be weather or thing such as continuity mistakes and general changes with my project. For starters my main issue with my NHS project is that I could only film in college hours as I do not live in Sunderland so I could not use the same areas nor actors for my production and had to fit in a small amount of filming time compared to the actual deadline that I had been given to film which had negative effects on my final project. Another problem that had occurred is that I frequently had problems with the batteries of my camera running out and so I had to wait for my batteries to charge every single time I went to shoot my production: However I fixed this issue by buying an additional 2 batteries that I could use instead of waiting for the single camera battery to recharge. Another hard part of my project was the amount of supporting filming and work I had to do for my classmates that needed help with either being used a as a supporting role or as use for the main project by being used as a camera man or as an actor.

On the other hand I didn't use a few shots and techniques such as an arch shot that I really wanted to use and I also wanted to use a few shots that would transition into the progress of what the actor has done. I also wish that I used some audio and inspirational speeches to motivate my audience which was my entire goal for the project. For the shots that I did use I wanted to make sure that all of the shots connected in a way especially the starting and ending having a contrast in shots of happy and depressing. I think that this fits the brief as I have atoned to all of the contents that needed to be involved in the production.

evaluation

For my canon project there was a couple issues with the production and work load and timed scale that we had been given. For example the canon project had been given as well as the NHS better health scheme so I could not focus on it as deeply as I would have lied to as I also had to focus on my NHS project as I was struggling with this also the actual product that I had to create as I had no clue on what an advertorial was and had to do some research of what it was. I also didn't know what I wanted to do for my advert  so I did not have much confidence when it came to doing the production and started to panic which put me off the production for the Canon project.

However I do like how the advert for the project went as in my opinion it looked very organised and I also tried to pay homage to the origins of the company as I think that this will be the best way to promote the production. Although saying this I wish I used a more vintage camera as the pupil as this would make a far more authentic way to make my product.

Production

This is my initial thoughts as one of my designs for my front cover or my advertorial I am yet to decide which one i will put it on but i do like the design and the concept I just think that it is too spaced out and it looks as if there is a lot of empty space around it.

This is my final image for my advert in the magazine. I do like the minimalism of the piece but I don't like how spaced all of the features are as I think that I could have made it look more professional however that is something that I will change in the future. What I based my design on was the project that canon had previously done for the animal eye where it featured the eye of an animal however I wanted to do a twist on this former project by using the Canon EOS R5 as the iris of my cover model as I thought that this would be an attractive feature that will make more people look at my advert for the canon and it would also mean that the company may employ further services as I have used former assets and improved it.

This is the focus group that I have decided to use for my Canon project.

I like the plain look of the advertorial however I also think that it has a bit of a blocky look to the design and could use more sharp features to improve the look of the advertorial and make it seem as if it is from a conglomerate company although with the more rudimentary approach to my advertorial it matches the final advert that also accompanies the magazine meaning that I have a certain style that follows a specific design which I think gives it more of a unique selling point which will attract more readers into viewing the product that I have been advertising. To create this poster all of the photoshop techniques that I used although basic still give that slight professional look to the poster. For example one of the tools that I used  was a very basic cropping tool to make the red boxes align with the actual images that I used for my advertorial however I rotated them to make it more unique look and not as boring and basic as other advertorials.

audience research

The younger generation are very interested in apps such as Instagram that they can post pictures of themselves for validation and likes. A camera will make more "vintage aesthetic" photo which means that it will achieve more of a trendy projection meaning they will get more likes. This survey has also shown that the people may not like the camera due to the bulky size of the device as this also means that it is not as accessible as the modern phone yet the photos on a phone only look good on an actual phone yet a good performance camera would look good on all levels of media.

This means that my advertorial, an advert in a magazine or newspaper designed to look like an article, will be largely orientated around trying to make the digital cameras look better then the phone cameras. I will achieve this by trying to advertise the better quality of cameras through using other influencers such as fitness influencers as they have influence over the modern generation. In my advertorial i will try and use people like David Laid and others that use special cameras that make them look better then a basic phone camera.

In the modern society the concept of beauty is largely resembled as everyone having perfect features yet in truth the majority of people use photoshop which promotes a fake agenda that just provides the youth with insecurity and pain. I will also try to change this in my advertorial as i would like to make the theme of beauty a more natural and loving the way you look way of thinking.

This survey was not visible on the PowerPoint so i will put it on blogger

From the surveys that i have got i see that most people think of the theme of a journey as some sort of travel. With this information i will base my advertorial off of a beautiful landscape of some sort maybe even the theme of travel. it will also be a focus on the thoughts of trying to make the camera look like a necessity so that people buy more Canon products instead of using their phones.

Canon usually uses the traditional theme and layout for their magazine covers for some originality when it comes to the commercial advertisement of the products that they provide. The purpose of the advertorial is to look like an article that the newspaper or magazine uses an advert to make it look like an article by the writers of the magazine. This means that it promotes a product or substance as the reader looks at the advertorial and picks up on the information which draws the reader in to buying the product.

canon brief

1933 was when the Canons predecessor was founded in Tokyo to conduct research into cameras. In 1934 Kwanon 1933 was when the Canons predecessor was founded in Tokyo to conduct research into cameras was the first 35mm focal-plate-shutter camera to produced it as a prototype. The company later, in 1935, filled for registration of the Canon trademark. The Hansa Canon, a 35mm focal-plate-shutter camera, was introduced in 1936. After this in 1937, Precision Optical Industry Co. Ltd was created. In 1940 Japans first indirect x ray camera was developed. Production began in 1945 for the midrange J ll focal-plate-shutter camera. The Ginza Camera Sevice Station opened in 1946, the Canon S ll was also Occupation forces and foreign buyers in Japan.Precision Optical Industry leader was Takeshi Mitarai who in 1945 produced commences for the midrange J II focal-plan-shutter camera. In 1946 the Ginza Camera Service Station opens up and the Canon S II introduced, receiving great acclaim from ranking officers in the Occupation Forces and Foreign buyers in Japan. Furthermore in 1947 The Company becomes canon Camera co.inc and the Government designates Canon cameras priority exports when Japan resumes export activities.

View by period - 1933-1936 - Canon Camera Museum (global.canon) I used this website as a reference.

Later in the 90s and early 2000s the technology had significant growth in development meaning that the camera changed over the years. The summer of 2000 Canon had the debut of the EOS D30, this camera was the smallest and lightest DLSR that was available to purchase. The camera was advertised as easy to use as it already had most features of the most technological camera such as a built in E-TTL auto-flash making it able to catch genuine and natural pictures. The whole concept of the EOS D30 was built in a house.

The Canon cameras and canon services are in many great films over the years such as major productions including:Avengers Assemble, the first avengers movie to be made, Paranorman, the fist children's animated film to have an openly gay character, Whiplash, the movie had a total of 19 days to shoot with 14 hours a day, Black swan, Nataile Portman had to pay with her own money for ballet training, amongst many others.

The full frame size of a camera is approximately the same dimensions as a 35mm fliming frame, this is a (24 x 36mm spec). Canon make both DSLR and mirrorless cameras. An advantage of a full-frame sensor is that it captures a full view of a 35mm lens. Another advantage would be that if the sensor has a same number of megapixels the photo receptors on a full frame which would give you less image noise and become more of a crisp image. Full frame photos also have a more shallow depth of field which is great for separating a portrait shot. Canon introduced 8K video recording with the EOS R5 in the year of 2020. This was also joined by the EOS R5 C. An 8 K shot offers more flexibility for a post capture crop and downsampling to the output resolution. As the moving parts can never be completely waterproof complex electronic devices should never be submerged. Canon has the goal of remaining number 1 in a declining camera market as well as retaining their upper base as they upgrade. The most advanced Canon camera of the year 2023 is the Canon EOS R6. The Canon EOS R6

The Canon values show me that they care about the environmental impacts of the production that goes through the company:the Canon company manufacture recyclable technology so they are sustainable for the environment. This means that Canon created the ISO14000 in the image of an environmental friendly device. this further denotes that the canon production are likely to be a more future proof company meaning that the company is less likely to fail or become outdated as time passes making it a reliable company to invest and produce for. Canon are also committed to supporting the causes of the world such as British red cross who they have donated over £850,000 across 33 countries.

production

These were my initial ideas to base my project off, yet they will have significant improvements as I wanted to make more of a comedic approach to the project, yet this will most likely not get the seriousness of the message that I am trying to convey to my target audience, yet it might also appeal to the ages of 16-20.

This is the design that I have decided to go with and my staple point will be the mountain of success with a possibility of the advert doing the rocky montage and a run up the mountain. This needs to improved as i had a grammatical error in the title which would be a significant mistake on my part and ruin the project. For my project I am most likely to go for a TV advert and a cover poster to promote the movie. The movie will be promoted to more of the C class audience as this is what the appropriate age bracket is defined with (ages,16-20). The colours I have decided to use are gradients through pink to blue. I chose these colours because they are bright and vibrant and will catch the target audience's attention.

For my final design i have chosen to use the Sunderland college gym as to use as the basis of fitness as this is the most easily accessible for all of my cast crew, This is due to me living at a location that is 2 hours away from the cast and crew meaning this needed a risk assessment. In the production stage of the advertisement i will have a main focal point on the journey of the protagonist  with a shift from close up shots at the start to signify the change of character of a sad loner to a confident extrovert. i would like for the shots of the gym to be arch shots with a transition of progress.

Some of the health risks of this project while uncommon still pose large health risks if the equipment is not used properly. This is due to the heavy weight of the equipment that i will be using although i will have supervision and the actors have experience using said equipment.

I have completed the filming process of this project i just need to piece together all of the footage. In my advert i am choosing to do a poster of me and one of my actors which will try to promote the gym for more people to go to etc.

This is the final design that i have decided to go with due to the feedback that i got on the form that i created as the second picture had a lot less negative feedback about the image, even though some of the responses had nothing to do with the actual survey most of the responses showed me that I would be better off using the second image. Although this poster is not the same as my initial poster I decided that this theme suits the NHS better then my first thoughts. I did however get some criticism about how the images have a slight green outline around myself and Saul. i even added a QR code to give it a staple of authenticity and professionalism.

This is my final product for my NHS television advert. I do like how the product came out especially in the cinematography although I do have critiques of the advert. As a start I personally do not like how the quality of the advert seems a bit grainy specifically in the first few shots: This will be something that I have to change the next time. I also am not a fan of how the video switches from landscape to portrait as although it was only one shot the consistent shot was ruined due to this. However I do like the transitions and angles as it evokes the thought of perseverance which will hopefully be a staple point as my message is to try and get people to discover their best selves.

However when I was making this production one of the main actors I had used for this had  had a haircut meaning that the authenticity of the production could have been ruined although I had fixed this problem by using angles and cuts to make it seem as though the changes of angles and movements looked as if it was the same all the way through minus a few clothing changes but I wanted to make it seem as if the changes were unrealistic and could tell that the person had been swapped with a minimum  amount of continuity changes.

Audience research

The campaign of the NHS will also mean that it will largely decrease the costs of healthcare within the UK. This means that the prices of most items will be reduced, which is a massive gain for youths as they are most likely in financial trouble due to the lack of life experience.

The vast service of the NHS covers many projects such as Change4life, quit smoking and COVID-19. The change4life campaign started in the yar of 2009 and was mainly focused on bettering others health and exercising. This is a good thing as it means that the increase in people's health will inspire others to become a better version of themselves greatly improving the production of a healthier lifestyle.

COVID-19 started 17 November 2019, the pandemic started which ruined many lives and caused over 6 million fatalities. The COVID-19 campaign originated on the date of the 16th of September 2021. This campaign was focused on the attempts to promote the COVID-19 booster vaccine as many people were not participated in such a vaccination., This drastically improved the quality of life within the world as it meant people were yet again able to be free and see each other. This meant that it was exponentially better for the mental health of the population, this then means that people can then see their family after all this time and return to their normal lives.

The NHS also had a quit smoking campaign which featured the information on the subject and how to quit. The campaign also told the viewers what would happen if the person stopped smoking, for example it spoke about what would happen in the next 20 minutes to 10 years into the future. This is what the research showed...

...This informative information will better convince someone to quit smoking as the person would have more of a motivation to quit smoking as this tells the person what is happening throughout the process. The NHS has given out this information as a way to keep people out of hospitals however the Tabacco tax was around £10,207 million which was over £313 million over last year meaning that the government will not put any form of law against smoking as the profits are growing at a rapid rate.

Fitness is a personal passion of mine that has largely changed my mindset of the world as a whole. Exercise is detrimental to the health and mentality of a person as a whole. I recommend that everyone starts to exercise as it means that more people will be able experience the change that made me better as a person. This means that if more people start working out then they will be more confident in life and their health will drastically become better meaning the NHS will not have to spend as much money on advertisement and healthcare for things such as diabetes and such.

In my research I have discovered that not many people partake in a healthy lifestyle although I cannot tell how many responses are accurate as I did not use a chart to get the information. this means next time for improvement I would need to use a form of a chart and ask why the person thinks such a thing. This will help with my focus group as it will help me answer why the people like or dislike exercise. This audience saying that they do recommend a healthy lifestyle however do not partake meaning that i believe that I should use some sort of a view of progression or perseverance.
